JIM KISIEL
FINANCE COMMITTEE
Jim Kisiel is a dedicated first-generation Steamfitter and has been a Local 420 member since 2017. It was through this dedication that he was able to accumulate 13 UA welding certifications throughout his apprenticeship. This led to him being awarded the Thomas J. Dugan Welding Award upon graduation.
After the apprenticeship, Jim was determined to continue advancing his education and training by taking advantage of the numerous opportunities Local 420 has to offer. To date, he holds 13 welding certificates and five other certificates, which include his CWI, Med Gas certification, CCO Certified Rigger/Signalperson, Osha 30, and STAR Cert.
Over the last eight years, Jim has been able to gain experience by working in several different areas within Local 420’s jurisdiction, including industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and gas distribution sectors. He has held positions of Welder/Fitter, Steward, and Foreman during this time.
Briefly after completion of the apprenticeship, he became an elected officer and served as Inside Guard for two-and-a-half years before being appointed to the Finance Committee. Jim associates his success to his work ethic and the selfless Journeyman he has encountered during his ongoing career. Jim intends to utilize his passion for this local and serve the membership as an officer of the Finance Committee.
Jim’s love and passion for the local and all it provides for its membership was recognized by his son Xavier, who is currently a 4th Period apprentice. Jim thanks his wife, Giselly, and their children for the support they have offered to him while he has devoted himself and his time to the best local in the UA.
