
JERRY L. GOLDEN III
EXAMINING BOARD
Jerry is a passionate first-generation Fitter who has been a member of Local 420 since 2017. Prior to entering the apprenticeship, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years. During this time, he completed two Combat Deployments to Afghanistan and one Marine Expeditionary Unit Deployment. In 2017, Jerry was selected for the UA Veterans in Piping Program through the Marine Corps and joined the local after graduating.
Born and raised in Delaware County, and a graduate of Interboro High School, Jerry now resides in Montgomery County with his wife, Amber, and three boys: Jerry IV, 9, Emeric, 6, and Weston, 2. Jerry is driven to give back to his community. Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and Union-sponsored Veteran Outreach Programs to educate veterans on a career path into the trades. Active with youth in the community, he coaches baseball, basketball, and flag football. In 2023, Jerry established the Abington Dad’s Association, which promotes bringing fathers together within the community.
During his career, he has been employed at Goshen Mechanical as one of their Welders and Fitters and is preparing to take on the next role as Foreman. Upon graduation, he continued his education receiving a Medical Gas Certification. In 2024, Jerry was selected to represent Local 420 in the first ever UA/MCAA Future Leaders Program held at the UA Headquarters in Annapolis, Md. In addition, Jerry was selected for the May Veteran Spotlight by WPHT 1210 AM, reflecting the transition from the Marine Corps into Local 420 and the incredible impact the union has made on his life.
As a young, up-and-coming professional in the trade, he wants to make a positive impact and give back to the local that has done so much for him.
