BOB HARRIS JR.
EXECUTIVE BOARD
Bob has been a member of Local 420 for more than 20 years, having entered the industry in August 2004. Since completing the apprenticeship in 2009, he has held many different titles, including Fitter, Certified Welder, Steward, Foreman and General Foreman in the nuclear, commercial and industrial divisions.
Bob has been the General Foreman at the Limerick Nuclear Outage for the last seven years, overseeing upward of 140 Brothers and Sisters during each outage. He has made sure that the outages have come in on time, on budget, and with the highest safety standards in place.
Bob was elected by the membership to represent them at the 40th UA Convention in 2021. He has been a member of the Examining Board and was elected to serve on the Executive Board in the 2022 election of officers. He also recently completed the UA Comet certification class. He frequently volunteers in Montgomery County to help elect Local 420 endorsed candidates with the AFL-CIO and has been on many picket lines to help protect and preserve the union way of life. He also participated in various volunteer opportunities with Local 420 to give back to the community on MLK Day and through the Ronald McDonald house. When Bob isn’t representing Steamfitters Local 420 at work, events and various other functions, he is a dedicated family man. Bob loves spending time with Janel, who he has been with for 17 years, and their two beautiful granddaughters, Lily, 4, and Tessa, 2.
Bob comes from a long and distinguished line of Local Union 420 Steamfitters, including his father, Bob Sr., his uncles, John & Joe Harris, his cousin, J.P., his brother-in-law, Shane, his nephew, Dominic, and now his son, Tyler (2nd period apprentice). This rich family history has continued to grow and has instilled in Bob the dedication and beliefs that he gladly shares with new generations of Steamfitters.
In this next election, Bob respectfully asks for members’ continued support to serve Steamfitters Local 420 as an Executive Board member for a second term.
